#38 in the Central Book, May 28, 2010; Easy — 5.6 miles round-trip, 100 feet elevation gain
This was the second of my (Becky’s) solo hikes in Central Oregon. Parking for this hike is at the Fall River Campground. To reach the trail you have to seek out a post behind site #8.
The easy trail follows along the cool, clear Fall River, watch for ducks and river swallows as well as elk.
This was an incredibly peaceful hike, I only saw a few fishermen and a couple other hikers. The hike ends when you reach the private land signs, return as you came.
Notes: Open year-round (except after winter storms). Great for kids and dogs and fishing. Also used by horses and mountain bikes.
