Bonus Hike – Weatherwax, Ocean Shores, WA; April 25, 2010; Easy — 1.3 miles round trip, no elevation.
Opportunity strikes! This time we brought Becky, Margaret, Ben, Will and Lucy (on her own feet).
We all met Ben’s parent’s timeshare in Pacific Shores, and decided to let them be alone for a few hours on a Sunday morning. We did some googling, and turned up a nice hike not far from where we were staying. The “parking lot” was a shoulder off a local road, but the trail head was clearly marked:
The trail was narrow, but easy to hike, and wended its way through scenic woods, with the water peeking through the branches occasionally. This was Lucy’s first serious hike on her own feet, and she seemed a bit impatient.
Will’s got a bit more confidence.
