#16 in the Northwest Book, June 21, 2010; Moderate – 7 miles round-trip, no elevation gain.
Looking to get in another training hike before the Big Hike, Margaret, Becky, Lucy (in the Kelty) and Jackson the Pug headed to nearby Lacamas Lake. This time, instead of heading around Round Lake, we took the trail along the larger Lacamas Lake. This wide, gravel path begins at a nice park with a playground and boat dock then follows the edge of the lake for an easy 3.5 miles. After skirting the edge of a golf course and traipsing over a few bridges it terminates in a little parking area with a restroom.
Notes: Open year-round, dogs must be leashed. Great for kids and bikes.
